Description
The idler sprocket is a free-rotating chain guidance component used within the tailstock chain drive system. Manufactured from 4130 alloy steel, the sprocket provides improved strength and durability under continuous chain tension and rotational loading.
Installed on the idler shaft, the sprocket rotates freely as the 60 series roller chain passes over it. Its primary function is to maintain proper chain alignment, routing geometry, and tension distribution within the tailstock travel mechanism.
The use of 4130 alloy steel enhances resistance to wear and deformation compared to mild steel sprockets, making it well suited for industrial chain-driven assemblies.
